Designed with a new computer program, the Pro Models are a result of combining different materials and shape possibilities, in order to maximize:
- dynamic
- flex
- hard edging for better upwind
- easy grabs
- control when powered up
- easier landings
The new dynamic flex tips are made by inserting an ABS sheet inside the lamination of the deck and bottom on the tips areas. The result is a fantastic combination of a stiffer middle board that speeds up immediately when you want to get going and flexes and edges when you press hard on your back foot. The new Ergo Cad Deck is a special design obtained by CNC machining the cores of the boards that will allow to differenciate:
- stiffness
- volume distribution
- grab space
The quadriaxial fiber bottom and deck laminations are made in order to maximize the memory of the fibers (flexing and coming back to the original position) and keeping them as light as possible. The vacuum laminations are a typical feature of the full custom made boards and RRD is one of the few brands in the world to keep this technology (longer to produce and most expensive) on the hi-level kiteboards.
The new ergo heel ABS pre-bent pads, are delivered with each board, allowing a perfect match of footstrap and pad placement when changing position on the deck.
A new re-desired Kite Fin line (KF) by Maui Fin Co. takes into account the thin profile that RRD had last year, with the improvement of making rounded outline edges that increase the 'sliding' possibilities and are less dangerous during sailing in case of accidents.

The biggest improvement is in control when really powered up. The boards feel free, fast and easy on the water, but at the time to stop them, you slam on the back foot and immediately reduce the speed! No more hitting your bum on the water to slow down! Thanks to the unreal dynamic flex, we can jump a little easier off the chops, making every air manouver look just more radical and stylish. Any twicked move is easier, and its landing too. Not just try and eat it! Since we have started to use the Pro Models, any other board seems part of the past.
