The discipline of waveriding seems to be booming... Lots of surfers and commited windsurfing wavesailors are looking into kitesurfing in waves as a real new breakthrough. Roberto Ricci has long time experience in development of surfboards which established his reputation. Now RRD has developed a very refined line of kiteboards that take into account latest surfing shapes in combination with kiteboarding stance. The way you ride a wave with a kite is very similar to surfing, but the foot position onto the board and the speed you are getting are something else. The boards are actually a result of a long research in terms of balance when bottom turning and capability to get grip and keep the speed in control when going off the top. The Wave Off are the reference in the kitewavesurfing market.

 

The Wave Offs are based on surfboards design: A relative thick middle point with thin nose and tail. The generous volume distribution allows to have a better floatation during waveriding in case of slow water sections or lack of wind. The tri fin configuration is the best solution to ride waves, this concept comes from surfing and is still today the most used configuration also for wave kiteboards. The new MFC 10.5 fins are specifically designed to fit the Wave Off boards. Thin and fast, the fins will never create unnecessary drag when the waves are fast and speed is very high.

 

The Wave Off line represents a step forward to a new vision of the sport. Waveriding is already started in kiting, but that's only the very beginning. It will boom, and the Wave Off will be a reference type of boards. They ride well upwind when the wind is light and do the most incredible turns off the wave bottom and lip. The control both under and overpowered is phenomenal!

 

The Wave Off are planning quick and easy, also lack of wind is no problem. The planning is well supported in the surf. The Wave Offs are going upwind very well. The behavior in turns is outstanding and they convince with very good control.
