Who Is The Reflex For?
Anyone who wants to feel the thrill of kitesurfing with as little complication and as much progression as possible, with a product built tough enough for heavy use.
Ride With Confidence
Featuring Vortex three-strut shaping DNA and a highly tuned 16-point bridle system, the Reflex feels instinctively responsive and smooth.
Featuring a durable Teijin Triple Ripstop dacron airframe, the Reflex offers a little softer and more playful all-terrain riding experience compared to the Vortex.
A thicker material than Aluula, used on the Vortex airframe, Dacron is also naturally more resistant to abrasion when scuffed on the beach.
With 25 years of in-house factory ownership, Ozone has focused its expertise on ensuring that all products are always born light and genetically strong.
Performance And Feeling
- Fast and instinctive flying feel
- Easy jumping and rewarding float performance
- Tight turning radius makes kite loops easy to learn and throw without fear
- Light to medium bar pressure
- Everything feels beautifully balanced so you can enjoy ripping around at speed with ease
No matter which materials are chosen for their specific performance benefits, when you have an Ozone product in your hands, you will always have the advantage of excellent aerodynamic flying characteristics.
The Reflex offers a mix of strength, performance and light weight flying characteristics to suit the riding style and demands of most modern kiteboarders.
High-Performance With Everyday Accessibility
The Reflex is heavily based on the Vortex design with a few key differences.
Shape And Materials
- 3 strut dacron airframe – more hard wearing and with a less demanding ride feel
- Offers more accessibility than the Vortex
- Less aspect ratio offers more low end power
- The Reflex is still considered a relatively high-aspect design
Accessibility And Handling
The softer dacron airframe also allows for more material twist under load, which means the Reflex turns more tightly through a loop with less power.
Ideal Rider
The Reflex is designed for beginner to advanced riders.
- Capable of feeding the addiction of any kitesurfer, however long or limited their experience
- Mixes high performance power and handling with comfort and accessibility
- Designed to make big-air twin-tip riding progression feel natural and fun
- Although the primary design focus was twin-tip performance, the Reflex’s tighter turns and softer feel also make it an excellent cross-discipline kite for wave and foil sessions
Features
Factory Ownership Advantage
Ozone uniquely owns its own factory where all kites, wings, boards, hydrofoils, paragliders, speed wings and accessories are made. This guarantees hand checked quality control and the finest materials at every step.
Designed With OZ-CAD
All Ozone kites and wings are designed with highly advanced custom built CAD software. This allows for specifically tailored technical developments, maximizing performance while also minimizing waste.
Single-Layer Laser Cut
Ozone kites and wings are crafted with exceptional precision using advanced laser technology to cut each panel individually in a single layer. This approach ensures consistent accuracy across all products, from entry level to high performance models.
Teijin Triple Ripstop Dacron Airframe
Teijin is a leading supplier of technical performance materials for marine sports, setting the benchmark in quality with proven superiority in dynamic strength and durability.
The technical triple rip-stop dacron is strong and reliable. It is used in areas requiring rigidity and stability, the leading edge, struts, wingtips and reinforcement areas.
Teijin TechnoForce Triple Ripstop Canopy
The triple rip-stop canopy material has an advanced coating to increase strength, rigidity and durability while improving feedback to the rider for a more direct feeling.
Transverse Sail Shaping
The Leading Edge features Transverse Sail Shaping, creating a cleaner and tighter surface on the most important area of the aerofoil. The result is less turbulent airflow and longer skin adhesion, positively affecting the lift to drag ratio and increasing overall performance.
4-Line Pulley-Less System
Ozone designs inflatable kites without pulleys, to inherit the unique Ozone feeling and performance across the range.
Fast Flow One-Pump Inflation System
The Fast Flow One-Pump Inflation System makes set up and packing quick and easy. It features single point inflation and deflation and a high air flow rate between the struts and leading edge, with clips to seal the hoses to prevent unwanted air flow in case of damage.
Internal Reinforcements
Top of the line materials and strategic internal reinforcements are used for increased strength and durability.
Overlap Flat Seams
Overlap flat seam construction improves sail control, resulting in an overall cleaner canopy.
Load Distribution Panels
Dacron reinforcements are used on all loaded areas for enhanced load distribution. This spreads loads evenly into the sail, ensuring the kite flies and performs at its best.
Direct Connect Struts
The Direct Connect construction method improves load distribution between the leading edge, struts and canopy. Struts are connected directly to the leading edge with internal and external reinforcements, helping maintain clean profiles with optimum canopy tension.
Reinforced Leading Edge And Struts
The leading edge and struts are reinforced in high stress areas to ensure the kite canopy remains in shape and performs at its best.
Reinforced Trailing Edge
Double layer trailing edge reinforcement with an internal lightweight Dyneema line reduces canopy wear and helps maintain optimum trailing edge tension.
Low Profile Aerodynamic Scuff Pads
Areas requiring scuff protection use a lightweight durable material with superior abrasion resistance, while keeping a low profile in order to reduce drag and maintain performance.
Unique Bladder Construction
Bladders are constructed in-house with advanced custom built welding machines. Double layered sections are applied to any potential wear areas.
Anti-Snag Line Deflectors
The Anti-Snag line deflectors prevent bridles and lines from tangling around the wing tip. Safety is increased when launching with a partner and water re-launch is made easier.
Tuned Bridle Geometry
Every kite has a unique bridle layout, individually tested and fine-tuned to maximize the feeling and performance.
Anti-Flap Battens
A combination of soft and rigid battens strategically positioned along the trailing edge provide canopy support and reduce flutter, enhancing kite feedback to the rider and reducing canopy material wear.
Back-Line Trimming Options
Handling and bar pressure can be customized with the back line bridle attachments. Closer to the leading edge provides slower turn speed and more bar pressure, while closer to the trailing edge provides faster turn speed and less bar pressure.
Fool Proof Line Connectors
Fool proof line connectors prevent incorrect rigging of the flying lines to the kite.
